Welcome To Taqueria Mexico
At 1393 Beacon Street in Brookline (Map), Taqueria Mexico is almost directly across the street from hometown favorite Anna's Taqueria. One could speculate on the motives of this decision for hours, but it's late and I'm here for the beans.
Taqueria Mexico is small, with only three or four booths. Despite the small accommodations, the menu is gigantic. There are all kinds of traditional dishes to try. Or if you're uninterested in deviating from the standard burrito, they have that too.
Many places that have plated meals don't focus on or even offer burritos to go, but Taqueria Mexico has it all. Let's see how it tastes.Taqueria Mexico.

Does this place steam the tortilla like Anna's/Boca/Felipe's, or just warm it on the grill like many [sub par] others?

I've just discovered this gem since I now live 2 blocks away. It is by far the best Taqueria in Boston that I've been to. The tacos remind me of the tacos i get in SoCal, the burrito I got was, while on the small side, also excellent (and with lamb meat!). The arroz y frijoles are also delivered. Best of all, its the right price!
I don't know how people go to Anna's with this place right across the street?! (oh, right, most people in Boston wouldn't know good Mexican food if it bit them in the culo.)
too bad about their breakfast, I was hoping for better =(

sadly, they've closed down. no word of it either, it was open a few days ago, then yesterday we went to get a quick bite and they were remodeling into *another* chinese/thai restaurant.
ugh. needless to say we went to get Indian food near Washington Sq. instead.
damn you Anna's!!!
